The Perchlorate Information Bureau (formerly the Council on Water Quality) is supported by Lockheed Martin, Aerojet, Tronox and American Pacific Corporation. These companies have worked cooperatively with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to increase scientific and medical understanding of perchlorate's risk to human health. Why the new name? Our new name reflects our ongoing commitment to be the authoritative source of information on perchlorate and its health effects. With state and federal governments poised to make critical decisions on this important issue, our new name is a response to the public’s growing interest in credible, up to date information about perchlorate and its health effects. Now, simply by typing “perchlorate information” in most keyword searches, the public, the media and decision makers can access this information and our hope is that the true facts about perchlorate, based on more than five decades peer-reviewed scientific research and study, will take their rightful place in the public discussion.
